Jamf Connect Sign in Issues

Jamf can encounter multiple sign in issues ranging from account to device issues. This article will go over some of the common ones and how to fix them.

1. Entra ID is not popping up:

Normally, a user should be presented with an Microsoft Entra-ID sign in as such:

Make sure that the user is hardwired into the network via Ethernet, and the EntraID screen will return. Afterwards, the user should be able to sign in, which in most cases will create a local account that they can sign into at any time.

2. 403 Forbidden Error:

This appears to be an issue related to profile errors, however, we were able to resolve it via the Jamf Connect Admin portal. It appears sending any management command to the computer will refresh it and remove this error. Using the Lock Computer command appears to be the least intrusive option.

3. Login Loop

This has been observed in at least one user. The error is as follows:

User will login via EntraID, and it will act like it is logging in and will immediately go back to the EntraID login screen. No amount of logging in or rebooting the computer will fix the error. Attempting local login off Ethernet will also not sign the user in either.

The only fix for this is going in to System settings with an admin user, and deleting the user who is encountering the login loop. Having them sign in again will allow them to sign in and establish the profile properly and without any further issues.
