Updating Kaltura Embedded Videos in D2L

Introduction

Due to a recent upgrade to the Kaltura service at UCO (also known as My Media in D2L), certain older videos are unable to be played by students in the course. This article provides instructions for replacing and/or updating embedded Kaltura videos from the V2 to V7 player in D2L to resolve these technical issues. These steps can only be completed by the individual who "owns" the original source video. If you are experiencing technical issues for videos in your course that were provided and/or created by other individuals, please submit a service desk ticket to the D2L application administrators for technical support. 

Updating Kaltura Embedded Videos in D2L

To update to the V7 player, you will need to delete the non-working video and reinsert the video source code in the module's HTML editor.

1. From your course Content, navigate to the module file with the broken embedded video, and click the dropdown menu next to the module name and select Edit HTML. 
   
2. Select the broken video and delete it from the page.
    
3. Place your cursor on the page where the updated video will be located and then click the Insert Stuff icon from the HTML Editor toolbar. 
4. Select Embed Kaltura Media 1.3 
5. Search or scroll to find the correct video, then click the Embed button. 
6. Click Insert. 
7. Then Save and Close the module file.
