Description
IT projects can be complex and require a great deal of planning and coordination. OIT has a team of experienced professionals who can help you with all aspects of your IT project, from planning and design to implementation and support.
Instructions
- Go to the UCO Service Desk Client Portal.
- Select Services.
- Select the Request for Technology service.
- Select the New UCO Technology service.
- Select OIT Project Request.
- Click the Request Project option.
- Complete all required fields on the project request form. Required fields are noted with a red asterisk.
- Project Name; provide a unique name for the project request.
- Sponsor Name: using the search feature, select the request sponsor (typically an AVP or VP level executive).
- UCO Deparatment: using the search feature, select the applicable requesting UCO Department.
- Project Description: provide a general description of the project including any known high-level deliverables.
- Purpose/Justification: provide detailed information related to the purpose of the new technology, why it is needed, what problems does it solve, and its impact to the university. Also, provide details that explain the negative impact to the university if the new technology project is not implemented.
- Regulatory Project: select yes or no - depending on whether or not the project is related to a regulatory / legal compliance requirement.
- Regulatory Details: provide details regarding the regulator / legal compliance requirement that the project will be satisfying.
- Affected Population: select all populations affected by this technology project.
- Solutions Considered: select Yes, No or Unknown depending on if a particular solution has been considered.
- Solution Details: describe the solutions, products, or vendors that were considered and reviewed.
- Desired Implementation Date: enter the date the technology is desired.
- Importance of Implementation Date: provide details around why it is important to implement this new technology by the desired date.
- Current State of System or Process: select the appropriate current state from the options provided.
- Describe the Current State of System or Process: provide supporting details on the system or process current state.
- Project Budget: select the applicable range of the budget for the technology. If not know, select Unknown.
- Source of Budgeted Funds: select the applicable source of funding.
- Project Budget Details: provide additional supporting information relevant to the project budget.
- Return on Investment: provide details around the ROI for the technology request, including increases in revenues, lower costs, efficiency gains, customer service improvements etc.
- If you are uploading any supporting documentation, use the "Attachments" section.
- Click "Review and Submit" once all project request sections have been marked complete.
- Review project request information and then click "Submit." You can print your project request if needed.
Upon submission, the Project Request will be forwarded to the OIT PMO for review and appropriate workflow selection. The requestor will receive email notifications as the request is processed.
Notes
Here are some additional tips for submitting a successful project request:
- Be clear and concise in your project description.
- Provide a detailed justification for the project, including the benefits it will provide to the university.
- Include an estimated budget and timeline for the project.
- Get approval from your supervisor before submitting the project request.
