Description
Automic is UCO’s job scheduling software which enables the running of Banner jobs on a schedule without user intervention. Jobs and processes are developed in a test environment and then published to production after a thorough technical and functional review.
Instructions
System Access
Access to UCO’s Job Scheduler system must be requested via the Employee Security Access Form.
- Submit the Employee Security Access Form to the UCO Service Desk.The form must be signed by the Banner Security Officer from the requesting area.
- Upon receipt, the Job Scheduler Application Administrator will notify all Banner Security Officers for access approval.
- Upon approval, the Job Scheduler Application Administrator will grant system access and inform the requester of the process to access the system.
Process Publication
Only the Job Scheduler Applications Administrator can publish a job or process to production after a thorough technical and functional review.
- When a job or process is ready to be published, submit a request to the UCO Service Desk including the following information:
- Process Name
- Process Description
- Requested Publish Date
- Automation Frequency
- Dependencies
- Upon receipt, the Job Scheduler Application Administrator will complete a technical review of the job or process in the test system to ensure it was set up correctly.
- Once the technical review is complete, the Job Scheduler Application Administrator will notify all Banner Security Officers of the pending publication and request their approval.
- Upon approval, the job or process will be published to production. Once in production, the job or process will be run once manually to confirm it works as expected before enabling the schedule.
