Description

This article provides instructions for finding the name of your UCO owned, desktop or laptop computer. This information is needed when attempting to connect to your computer remotely and may be necessary when requesting support services. 

Instructions

On a Windows Computer:

  1. Right-click the Windows Start Button in the bottom-left corner, then click "System".

2. Your computer name, or hostname is shown after “Device name” as seen below:

 

 

On an Apple computer:

  1. Click the Apple () icon in the upper left corner of the screen, then click System Preferences.

  1. Click “Sharing”.

  1. The computer name is displayed at the top of the window.
