These instructions will show you how to add a custom or system widget to your course homepage.

In order to add a new widget to your course home, you will need to be using a custom homepage that is editable. The following steps provide instructions for copying and creating a custom homepage if you have not already done so before. Editable homepages appear blue in your list of available homepages.

If you already have a custom homepage, you can skip step 4. Complete all steps if you do not already have a custom homepage.

Instructions

  1. Login to Learn@UCO (http://learn.uco.edu) and navigate to your course.
  2. Once inside your course, click Edit Course.
  3. Select Homepages.

    To add the new widget, you will need to use a custom homepage. If you already have a custom homepage for your course, skip to step 5.
     
  4. To create a custom homepage, click the dropdown arrow next to the default homepage title and select Copy.
  5. Course homepages that can be edited (custom homepages) will appear as a blue link. Click on the linked title to edit the homepage.
  6. Scroll down to the “Widget” section and choose a location for the widget then click Add Widget.
  7. From the pop up window, you can search for a specific widget or scroll through the list.
  8. Select the checkbox for the selected widget(s) then click Add.
  9. Click Save and Close.
  10. Choose your custom homepage in the “Active Homepage” dropdown menu then click Apply.
  11. The new widget will now appear in your course homepage.
