All spring, summer, and fall graduation candidates MUST APPLY for graduation by completing an electronic application. Students are strongly encouraged to complete the graduation application during the appropriate priority application filing period:

  • Anticipated Graduation Spring: Priority application period Oct. 15th - Dec. 1st
  • Anticipated Graduation Summer: Priority application period Jan. 31st - Feb. 28th
  • Anticipated Graduation Fall: Priority application period June 15th - Aug. 1st

Students who complete the graduation application during the priority period will be charged a $45.00 fee to their University account. There is an additional $25.00 late fee for those students who apply after the priority deadline. Students who are earning concurrent degrees (two or more degrees) will be charged an application fee for each degree that they are applying to graduate with. Students who are graduating with a double major or multiple majors will only be charged one graduation fee. If you are unsure which scenario applies to you, please contact your Academic Advisor.

Applications are processed in the order they are received. Please allow up to six (6) weeks for Degree Certification to notify you regarding your degree status. If there is a problem with your application, Degree Certification will contact your advisor. Please work with your advisor to resolve any issues.

If you are unable to complete graduation requirements and need to change your graduation date, YOU must notify Degree Certification via email (DegreeCertification@uco.edu). You will be required to reapply for the appropriate semester and will be charged another application fee.

If you drop/add any courses after you have submitted your application, YOU must notify Degree Certification via email (DegreeCertification@uco.edu) of the changes. Your graduation clearance is valid only for the courses listed on your graduation application.

Please visit the main Degree Cerification webpage for more information. You will receive information about Graduation Central after the semester starts. Caps and gowns and graduation announcements may be purchased at the University Book Store, NUC 210.
