A plan of study is a graduate student's "course roadmap" that outlines their courses, when they will be taking the courses, and how long they will be a graduate student with UCO.
Formal plans of study are crucial for tracking graduate students' progress, course sequencing, and enrollment. All degree-seeking graduate students are required to submit a signed plan of study to the graduate college during their first semester. If a student is getting financial aid, the financial aid office will also require a copy of the plan of study.
Any time any updates are made to the plan of study a new one will need to be submitted to the graduate college. This is crucial to ensure the most up-to-date information is on file when a student is ready to graduate. Plans of study are created by the program advisor in conjunction with the student. When a student enrolls each semester, they can refer to the plan of study to know which courses to enroll in.
If you do not currently have a plan of study, reach out to your program advisor and schedule a meeting. https://uco.edu/jcgs/students/advisors
