Password Reset for UCO Accounts

If it has been more than 90 days since you last used your UCO account, you may not be able to use the self-service password reset. Please contact the Service Desk for assistance: 405-974-2255, chat, or in-person.

Introduction

This article describes the steps to reset your password for a UCO account. At the University of Central Oklahoma, Faculty, staff, and students must change their password every 210 days. A password reset reminder is emailed at 30 days, 14 days, 7 days, 3 days, 2 days and 1 day. You may change your password at any time to keep the account secure.

NOTE: You must have access to your alternate email address associated with your UCO Account before using this tool.

Reset Your Password

  1. Go to the Self-Service Password Change Utility at https://studentreset.uco.edu/.
  2. Enter your UCO username or Student ID number (include the * or C at beginning).
  3. Select the checkbox next to "I'm not a robot" or enter the CAPTCHA text.
  4. Click on the Search button.
  5. Click the Send Reset Email button to receive a password reset link in your registered non-UCO email account. (Note: The link may take up to 15 minutes to be delivered.)
  6. The page should refresh and notify you that an email containing a password change link has been sent to your registered non-UCO email address.
  7. Once you receive the password reset email, click on the link provided in the email and follow the instructions to set a new password.

Note: If you do not receive the password change emails, please check your "Spam" or "Junk Mail" folders. If necessary, you can change the non-UCO email address affiliated with your account. 

After changing your password, update all devices connected to the UCO system (Wifi, Email, UCONNECT, D2L, etc.) with your new password. Failed login attempts due to an old/incorrect password will result in your account being “locked.”

Change Password ​​​​​​
  1. Start by going to the Microsoft Password Reset tool at the following URL: https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/

  2. Select option 1: "I forgot my password" and click the "Next" button.

  3. Next, you will need to verify your identity by phone number and email address.
    1. Select "text my mobile phone" option and enter your phone number. Then click the "Next" button.

    2. Enter the 6-digit code you received in the text message in the "Enter your verification code" box. Then click "Next" button.

    3. Select "Email my alternate email" and click "Next" button.

    4. Enter the 6-digit code you received in the email in the "Enter your verification code" box. Then click "Next" button.

  4. Enter a new password in the "enter new password" box and re-enter it in the "Confirm new password" box. Click the "Finish" button.

  5. Your password will be changed and you can proceed to use UCO resources.

Unlock Account ​​​​​​
  1. Start by going to the Microsoft Password Reset tool at the following URL: https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/

  2. Select option 2: "I know my password, but still can't sign in" and click the "Next" button.

  3. Next, you will need to verify your identity by phone number and email address.

  4. You will receive a confirmation page with the message "Your account has been unlocked" and will be able to log in to UCO resources.
    It is recommended to close all browser tabs before proceeding to log back in, as stored credentials could lock your account again.
