Duo's Self-Service Portal

Overview

Duo Mobile's self-service feature allows UCO's Faculty and Staff to enroll a second device, reactivate an existing phone number, and adjust settings on the Duo Moble 2FA prompt when logging in with no training needed. 

๐Ÿšฉ If you do not have access to your old device, contact the Service Desk extension (2255) for escalation. 

Features

Duo's Self-service Portal allow users to manage their own devices. Users can easily:

     Enroll an Additional Device or Setup Alternative Authentication Method

     Reactivate Duo Mobile on an Existing Phone Number 

     Create Custom Names for Devices

     Set Default Devices or Remove Existing Devices

 

 

Enroll an Additional Device or Setup Alternative Authentication Method

  1. Open an internet browser such as Google Chrome, Firefox, or Microsoft Edge.
  2. Create a private window by pressing Ctrl+Shift+N (Ctrl+Shift+P for Firefox Users)
  3. Go to login.microsoftonline.com or UCO Outlook Webmail.  
  4. Input your uco.edu username and select Next.

     
  5. Next input your uco.edu password and select Sign in.

     
  6. Select the Settings tab in the top right corner.

     
  7. In the Settings tab select Add a new device.

     
  8. When adding a new device you'll need to authenticate. In this example we will use "Send Me a Push"

     
  9. Go to your device and approve the Duo push to authenticate. 

     
  10. Press Tap to respond prompt.

     
  11. Select the green โœ”๏ธApprove button.

     
  12. Back on the desktop screen select one of the options under What type of device are you adding? and press Continue. In this example we are going to add an iPad tablet. 

     
  13. Next install Duo Mobile app on the new device in either the Duo mobile app for iOS for Apple or the Google Play Store Duo mobile app for Android. Once installed select I have Duo Mobile.

     
  14. Activate Duo Mobile for iOS/Andriod by scanning the QR code with your second device camera.

     
  15. When you succesfully scan you will get a โœ”๏ธgreen checkbox and the Continue botton will be enabled, press Continue

     
  16. You will now see the second device added where it says NEW. Click on Back to Login button (scroll further down) it will take you to a new prompt screen to re-authenticate.

     
  17. You will have a drop down option to chose which device to use for this session (or future sessions) authenticaton.

     
  18. Congratulatons! You have now added a second device to Duo Mobile 2FA.

Reactivate Duo Mobile on an Existing Phone Number

  1. To enroll an additional device for authentication go to login.microsoftonline.com using a New InPrivate Window by pressing Ctrl+Shift+N for Microsoft Edge, Chrome, Firefox, or Safari from a desktop computer.  
  2. Input your uco.edu username and select Next.

     
  3. Next input your uco.edu password and select Sign in.

     
  4. Select the Settings tab in the top right corner.

     
  5. In the Settings tab select My Settings & Devices.

     
  6. When adding a new device you need to authenticate first, select Send Me a Push.

     
  7. Go to your device and approve the Duo push to authenticate.
  1. Press Tap to respond prompt.

     
  2. Select the green โœ”๏ธApprove button.

     
  3. Back on the desktop screen select the โš™๏ธgear symbol next to the device name you want to reactivate.
  1. A dropdown menu will appear, select โœ๏ธReactive Duo Mobile button.

     
  2. Select phone type.

     
  3. Next install Duo Mobile app on the new device in either the Duo mobile app for iOS for Apple or the Google Play Store Duo mobile app for Android. Once installed select I have Duo Mobile.

     
  4. Activate Duo Mobile for iOS/Andriod by scanning the QR code with your device camera.

     
  5. When you succesfully scan you will get a โœ”๏ธgreen checkbox and the Continue botton will be enabled, press Continue.
  1. You will now see the reactivated device added.

Create Custom Names for Devices 

  1. To create custom names for your registered devices in Duo Mobile go to login.microsoftonline.com using a New InPrivate Window by pressing Ctrl+Shift+N for Microsoft Edge, Chrome, Firefox, or Safari from a desktop computer.  
  2. Input your uco.edu username and select Next.

     
  3. Next input your uco.edu password and select Sign in.

     
  4. Select the Settings tab in the top right corner.

     
  5. In the Settings tab select My Settings & Devices.

     
  6. When adding/customizing a new device you need to authenticate first, select Send Me a Push.

     
  7. Go to your device and approve the Duo push to authenticate.
  1. Press Tap to respond prompt.

     
  2. Select the green โœ”๏ธApprove button.

     
  3. Back on the desktop screen select the โš™๏ธgear symbol next to the device name you want to change. 

     
  4. A dropdown menu will appear, select โœ๏ธChange Device Name button.

     
  5. A screen will appear to type in the new name of the chosen device, once done click Save.

     
  6. Once you click save you will recieve a green prompt at the bottom that says Successfully modified device name.  Now you device will appear as the new name when you are logging into the Duo prompt.

Set Default Devices or Remove Existing Devices 

  1. Select the Settings tab in the top right corner.

     
  2. In the Settings tab select My Settings & Devices.

     
  3. When adding a new device you need to authenticate first, select Send Me a Push.

     
  4. Go to your device and approve the Duo push to authenticate. 

     
  5. Press Tap to respond prompt.

     
  6. Select the green โœ”๏ธApprove button.

     
  7. Back on the desktop screen select one of the options towards the bottom under Default Device which will allow you to select which device will be your primary for Duo Mobile Authenticaiton if more than one device is enrolled.

     
  8. To Delete a registered device select the โš™๏ธgear symbol next to the device name you want to delete and a dropdown menu will appear, select ๐Ÿ—‘๏ธDelete Device button.
