"Reporting Phishing in Gmail: A Guide for Students

Instructions for Students

What is Phishing?
Phishing is a type of online scam where attackers send fake emails that look like they’re from trusted sources—like your bank, a professor, or even UCO—in an attempt to steal your personal information, such as passwords or financial details.

At the University of Central Oklahoma, protecting your personal information and the campus community is a top priority. That’s why we take phishing threats seriously and encourage all students to stay alert and report suspicious emails. By learning how to recognize and report phishing, you help keep UCO’s digital environment safe for everyone.

Follow the steps below to report phishing emails directly from your UCO Gmail account.
