AcroTray.exe Error in Office

Issue Description:

Due to an error with the install of Adobe Acrobat and the integration with the Microsoft Office suite, users might be faced with the following error when clicking the Insert tab or when trying to print to PDF.:

Issue Resolution:

In order to rectify this issue the technician or user will need to uninstall specifically Adobe Acrobat from the user's device. This can be performed by:

  1. Open Adobe Creative Cloud Screenshot of Adobe Creative Cloud App

  3. Find Acrobat in the list of Installed Applications. Click the three dots, and then click uninstall.Screenshot of Uninstall Option on Acrobat
  4. Wait for Acrobat to uninstall. This can take from 5 to 15 minutes depending on the age of the computer and other externalities. Screenshot of waiting for Acrobat to Uninstall
  5. Once Acrobat has finished uninstalling, you will have the option to Install Acrobat from the list of apps in Creative Cloud (Note, you may have to scroll to find Acrobat in the list of apps). Click the Install button.Screenshot of Adobe Apps - Acrobat
  6. Allow Acrobat to install. This may take anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes depending on the age of the computer and other externalities.Screenshot of reinstalling Adobe Acrobat

Once Acrobat has finished reinstalling, the AcroTray.exe error should stop occurring.
