Getting Started

Your computer MUST BE equipped with a wireless network adapter to connect to UCO's wireless networks. Wireless adapters come standard on almost all new computers/devices.

UCO currently offers two wireless connection options; UCO and UCO_SECURE.

UCO

• Unencrypted network that requires users to sign in on a "captive portal" page each time they access the Internet.
• Grants access to Internet only.
• Used by students, faculty, and staff to connect their devices without a web browser via the My Devices Portal.
  • If your device does not have a web browser, the My Devices Portal will allow you to connect to the UCO wireless network automatically.
  • Using your web browser, go to https://mydevices.uco.edu and log in using your UCO username/password.
  • Follow the instructions to register up to 8 of your devices by entering the MAC address of each device.

  • Once registered, your device will be able to connect to the UCO wireless network without needing to sign in.
• Used by students, faculty, and staff to connect their Windows devices to the UCO_SECURE network via the onboarding process.

• Used by UCO guests for self-registration.
  • Guest Wifi Access

UCO_SECURE

• Encrypted network that requires users to sign in once to verify the identify.
• This is the preferred network for students, faculty, and staff.
• Grants access to all Internet and UCO network resources.
• Authentication uses UCO username/password.
• Used by students, faculty, and staff to connect the following devices without additional setup:
  • Apple Computers (Macbook, iMac, etc.)
  • iOS Devices (iPhone, iPad, etc.)
  • Android Devices (Phones, Tablets, etc.)
• Used by faculty, staff and students to connect Windows devices, such as Windows computers, with additional setup.
