How to Find Your Computer Name

Description

This article provides instructions for finding the name of your UCO owned desktop or laptop computer. This information is needed when attempting to connect to your computer remotely and may be necessary when requesting support services. 

Instructions

Windows Computer

  1. Click the Windows Start Button at bottom of screen Windows icon
  2. Select Settings
  3. Select About
  4. In the Device Specifications section, the computer name is shown next to Device name

Apple Computer

  1. Click the Apple icon in the upper left corner of the screen Mac apple icon
  2. Click System Settings
  3. Click Sharing
  4. The Computer Name is displayed at the top of the window.
