D2L Creator+

Introduction

The Creator+ package extends the Brightspace (HTML) Editor with additional features to help you create more dynamic customized content making it the perfect tool for instructors who want to elevate their course content. In addition to all the basic Brightspace Editor features, these Creator+ features make it easier for instructors to build dynamic media experiences in minutes, all while following best practices in instructional design, and creating interactive elements designed to meet the needs of the learners.

D2L Creator+ Getting Started

Creator+ is an add-on feature that can be accessed anywhere you find the Brightspace editor tool within a D2L course shell. For example, the Brightspace editor is used when creating an HTML page in the content tool, adding descriptions for modules, creating quiz questions or discussion prompts, and many more locations. 

To get started using D2L Creator+, open a D2L course shell and locate the Brightspace editor tool. For the following example, we will be creating a new HTML page within a Content module. 

  1. Access the Brightspace editor tool and click the + dropdown menu
  2. You can choose to Insert Element, Insert Practice, or select a page Layout. For this example, we will be inserting a course interactive element.
    From the dropdown menu, select Insert Element
  3. Choose from the available options such as Click and Reveal.
     
  4. Complete the requested information fields and click Preview to continue
  5. Test your element and click Insert to add it to the page. 
  6. Select the element and click the pencil icon at any time to edit the content. 
  7. Save and Close the Brightspace Editor.
